Unemployment?

The problem we face currently is that multiple people in households claim a job at the same time.

Up to the 1970, it was normal for 1 person in the household to earn the money. Then it all changed because people became more materialistic and therefore needed more money to afford a more luxurious lifestyle.

Do not get me wrong I do not say women should not work; I am merely trying to say that if only one person in a household being man or woman would have a full time job, that this would drastically reduce the amount of jobseekers and therefore jobseeker allowance.

Personally I would not mind to be a houseman, even though it is a job on its own, if my wife makes more money than me.

The government does not help either by throwing money away or spend it on unnecessary things. It would be better if the government would build and invest in new factories and manufacturing sites across the country thus reducing the unemployment.
Here in the United Kingdom previously growing businesses like the world renowned metal works and the linen industry were sold to foreign investors who slowly killed these industries over here which costs tens of thousands of jobs in the UK alone.

Another concern is the ridicules wages being paid to the managers of companies and banks; yes they should be rewarded on how good they do their job but with reason say a four month salary tax free extra as a maximum, if the company has made a pre-set profit. Do not forget the managers could not make the profit if it was not for the workers.  No profit made? No bonus!

Let me hear your thoughts how to tackle this problem!

Euthanasia Yes or No?

With the world population getting older and older all the time, it gets more difficult to pay for all the pensions and retirement homes. For some terminally ill people who are kept alive in a selfish act by their relatives and hospitals.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to allow people to decide themselves, if they want to live on or not? I mean if people decide to put on paper (by their own will and sound of mind) that they want to be euthanized when they cannot take care of themselves anymore, and/or lost their dignity because others have to wipe their bums, or the terminally ill would it not be better to grant their wishes?
Personally I would not like to live on if that would happen to me, and I am sure there are many others who think the same but they do not let their voice be heard.

Retirement homes cost the tax payers a lot of money every year to keep them open. It is going to be more difficult every year to keep them up and running.
Euthanasia should be legal, and I think that the government should open controlled centres where this can be done. I agree there has to be some kind of screening and medical evidence (age speaks for itself).

The stupid thing to say is suicide is against the law, as the person who commits suicide does not care about it, as it is not possible to put a dead person in prison anyway.

If people want to end their lives let them do it but in a controlled manner. As many people will choose to follow this path, it will decrease the numbers of pensioners and terminally ill thus reducing costs which can be used for other good things.

Please let your thoughts be heard too.

World's Energy Problem.

We all know that the fossil fuels like oil, gas and coal we currently use worldwide are bound to run out eventually. This can take 10, 20, or 50 years but it will dry up, and then what? We will have to look at this rather sooner than later, as we cannot wait till we run out without having other alternative Energy resources.

What options do we have currently?

- Wind power (windmills)

- Solar power (solar panels)

- Nuclear power (nuclear fission) not the best option with respect to the waste.

- Hydropower (dams) falling water))

- Geothermal power (Earths energy)

- Bio energy (biological material)

- Hydrogen

- Wave power

- Tidal power

With the soaring oil prices you would think the whole world would invest more in developing and researching renewable energy sources! Well, governments pretend the willingness to use renewable energy, but do not want to lose the revenue in taxes of oil or fuel, so they will postpone any cheap fuel alternative as long as they possibly can.

Energy companies possibly are going to increase their prices they charge their customers by 25% this year 2011 because of higher prices to buy in gas and oil. In the meantime they find other excuses to increase the prices by letting us believe there is a shortage. What they are not telling the consumer is that big tankers wait at sea for permission to unload their precious cargo of oil and gas at the refineries at the convenience of the fuel companies. So the fuel companies charge the consumer extra while buying cheaper fuels themselves.

For instance, Shell reported profits of 18.6 billion dollars for 2010, due largely to rising oil prices and increased production, which are almost double the profits for 2009. How is it possible to make that amount of profit if Shell would have to pay higher prices themselves? The oil companies make extra money over the backs of their customers by charging higher prices than necessary at the pumps with the excuse of higher oil prices.

What will happen if we try to save and use less electricity, gas, and car fuel? You guessed it: We will be charged more because the suppliers lose profits, and in this world if a company makes less profit then the previous year, then they class this as a loss. i.e.: $800.000.000 profit one year and $500.000.000 profit the next year will be presented as a $300.000.000 loss for the company. Unfortunately we live in a world dominated by GREEDY and POWER hungry individuals who only think of themselves.

Governments worldwide could and should put more pressure on energy/oil companies to invest a certain percentage (20 - 30% of their profits in renewable energy research, development and introduction.

Energy companies should be a non profit organisation who produce, distribute, improve and maintain the energy grid. Every year 75% of the profits made should be used to improve and develop new technology in relation to renewable energy sources, while 25% will be added to next year’s profit as a backup for unforeseen expenditures.

If we do not act now, and work together on the global problems, we will regret this later on. We have to make planet Earth a better place to live for our children and their children and for future generations to come.

The human race is great in destroying anything in their path, but the sooner we start using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels, the sooner our planet will start restoring itself.

Let us make this is a dream become true!
